Web Design

Websites that bring in work, not just compliments.

Maybe your site is eight years old and takes six seconds to load. Maybe your nephew built it in high school. Maybe you don't have one at all, and you're watching guys with worse trucks take calls that should be yours. I fix that at a flat price, with a real process, and I build the site to rank.

Before I talk price, go look at what I've already built.

Can I see websites you've actually built?

Yes — two live custom builds are below, and you can click into either one right now.

Yes. Two live sites are below and you can click into either one right now. Both are custom builds, no templates, and both are running in the real world with real customers using them. I'd rather show you the work than describe it.

That's the standard. Here's exactly what it costs.

How much does a website cost with Stoughton Media?

Three flat prices — $750, $2,000, and $3,500 — and you pick the tier.

Three flat prices: $750, $2,000, and $3,500. You pick the tier and that's the number. I don't bill hourly, I don't send surprise invoices, and I tell you the price before I start, not after.

About that free Care Plan month on Presence and Authority: the first month is included, then it's $125/mo only if you choose to continue. Nothing renews on you automatically and nothing recurring is required at checkout.

Which web design tier is right for me?

Foundation to get online and found, Presence for a custom site that pulls leads, Authority to go after a whole market.

If you just need to be online and found, start with Foundation. If you want a custom site that pulls leads and reads like you wrote it, that's Presence. If you're going after a whole market, that's Authority.

Most local service businesses land on Presence. It's the first tier where I write the copy in your voice, where the site captures leads instead of just sitting there, and where your analytics get set up so you can see what's working. Foundation is the honest pick if money is tight and you need a clean, fast site that ranks for your name. Authority is for when you want a page for every service and every area you cover, a hero video, an integration your customers actually use, and a blog already loaded with two posts so it isn't sitting empty on launch day.

Not sure? Say so in the form at the bottom and I'll tell you which one I'd sell you, even when that's the cheaper one.

What about hosting and upkeep after launch?

Optional, flat, and month to month — the Care Plan at $125/mo, the Content Plan at $350/mo, and Content Plan+ at $550/mo.

Optional, flat, and month to month. The Care Plan is $125/mo, the Content Plan is $350/mo for 2 posts, and Content Plan+ is $550/mo for 4. None of it is required at checkout and you can drop it anytime.

Recurring plans offered after any website build: Care Plan $125 per month, Content Plan $350 per month, Content Plan+ $550 per month
Plan Price What it covers
Care Plan $125/mo Hosting, backups, security, monitoring, and small edits capped at 30 minutes per month.
Content Plan $350/mo 2 blog posts a month, written in your voice.
Content Plan+ $550/mo 4 blog posts a month, written in your voice.

You know the number. Here's what actually happens after you say yes.

What happens after I hire you to build my site?

Four steps, in order, and you see the work at every one.

Four steps, in order, and you see the work at every one. You never wonder where your money went or what week you're in. I tell you what I need from you up front, then I go build it.

  1. Step 1

    Discovery

I learn your business and I ask the question most people skip: what is one new customer actually worth to you? That number decides what this site needs to do.

  2. Step 2

    Design

You see the direction before I build a thing. Layout, colors, type, the feel of it. We settle it here so there are no surprises later.

  3. Step 3

    Build

I write the copy in your voice and build every page, fast and clean, with the SEO baked in instead of bolted on after.

  4. Step 4

    Launch and handoff

It goes live, I set up your analytics, and I hand you every login. You own the whole thing. Nothing is held hostage on my end.

That's the process. Here's the guy running it.

Who actually builds my website?

I do — every page, start to finish, with no junior and no account manager in between.

I do. Every page, start to finish. No junior, no contractor overseas, no account manager between us. When you call about your site, you get the person who built it.

Ian Mendoza, founder of Stoughton Media, web designer in San Antonio, Texas

Ian Mendoza · Founder

I sold cars and jewelry before I built websites, so I've watched a lot of people decide whether to trust somebody in about ten seconds. That's the same job your website has, and most sites lose it on load time and a stock photo of a handshake.

So I build the way I sold. Say the real thing, say it fast, make it easy to take the next step. I've got a wife and four kids counting on my name meaning something, so I'm not going to hand you a pretty site that doesn't bring you work.

Ian

One more thing before the questions: the extras, priced flat like everything else.

What else can you add to my website?

The things people ask for most, priced flat, so you can add them without a meeting.

The stuff people ask for most, priced flat so you can add it without a meeting. Already have a site? You do not need to rebuild to work with me. The Tune-Up and Small Web Fixes below are for the site you've already got.

Website Tune-Up

$450
  • Speed and image optimization, plus mobile fixes
  • ADA compliance check and fixes, alt text added
  • Broken links and forms repaired, basic on-page SEO and schema
  • Up to 6 content edits and one review round with you

Not included: new pages, a redesign, or new photography. A content edit means swapping text or an image on a page you already have.

Small Web Fixes

$150
  • One defined fix, quoted up front before I touch anything
  • For the "just fix this one thing" situation
  • No plan, no commitment, no phone tag

Straight talk: if you keep needing fixes, the $125/mo Care Plan is the better deal. Two fixes cost more than a month of it.

Integrations

$200 to $350
  • Booking $225, Payments $200, Ticketing $350
  • Connect, embed, style, and test one platform you already own
  • Set up on up to 2 pages

Not included: the platform subscription itself, a second platform, or ongoing management of your bookings and orders.

Logo + Brand Kit

$400
  • 2 to 3 concepts, 2 revision rounds
  • Full file package: SVG, transparent PNGs, favicon, horizontal, stacked and icon versions, light and dark
  • Color palette with hex codes, two font pairings, one-page brand sheet PDF

Not included: trademark filing, printed materials, or vehicle wrap layouts. You own every file when it's done.

E-Commerce Shop

$1,250 or $2,750
  • Basic, $1,250: store added to your site, up to 20 products, one payment processor, cart or buy-button checkout
  • Dedicated, $2,750: designed shop section with categories, up to 50 products, filtering, product page templates that match your site
  • Shipping and tax basics, order emails, and a training walkthrough on both

Not included: product photography, writing your product descriptions, inventory loaded past the product cap, or processor fees.

Extra Pages & Spanish

$150/page
  • Extra pages past your tier's cap are $150 each, flat
  • A Spanish version of your site runs 25 to 40% of the build price
  • Spanish is the one item with a range, and I quote it flat before we start

Why the range: a 4-page site and a 12-page site are different jobs. You get one flat number in writing, not an hourly meter.

Google Local Services Ads setup is $350 and lives on the full add-ons menu along with everything above. If you're weighing the build against the rankings, the local SEO page explains how the Top 3 guarantee works, and the packages page shows what you save buying both together.

Still have questions? Good. Here are the ones I get most.

Straight answers

Questions I get before every build.

How long does a website build take?

Foundation usually takes about two weeks, Presence three to four, and Authority four to six. The one thing that speeds it up or slows it down is how fast you get me photos, approvals, and answers. I give you a target date before you pay, then I hit it.

Who writes the copy on my website?

I do, on Presence and Authority. I interview you, listen to how you actually talk about your work, and write the pages in your voice so it sounds like you and not a template. On Foundation you send me your words and I lay them out properly.

What happens if I need changes after the site goes live?

One-off changes are Small Web Fixes at $150 per defined fix, quoted before I touch anything. If you find yourself asking every month, the Care Plan at $125 a month is the better deal, because it covers hosting, backups, security, and 30 minutes of edits each month.

Do I own my website when it's finished?

Yes. You own the domain, the files, the content, and every account I set up for you. I hand over logins at launch. If you ever want to walk away or hire somebody else, you take the whole site with you and you owe me nothing.

What if I already have a website?

Then you may not need a rebuild. The Website Tune-Up at $450 fixes speed, images, mobile problems, ADA issues, broken links and forms, and basic on-page SEO on the site you already have. If it turns out a rebuild is the honest answer, I'll tell you that instead.

What if I need more pages than my tier includes?

Extra pages are $150 each, flat, and I quote them before I build them. Most local service businesses fit inside their tier. If your service list or your service areas push you past the cap, I'll say so up front so the number never moves on you.

Do I have to buy SEO to get a website?

No. The build stands on its own and nothing recurring is required at checkout. Plenty of people buy a site, run it themselves, and come back later. If you want both at once, the bundles on the packages page cost less than buying the two apart.

If your question isn't here, ask me directly. The form is right below.

No pitch. No pressure.

Let's build something that earns its keep.

Tell me a bit about your business and I'll record a free video audit of your current site, or your competitors' if you don't have one yet, and show you exactly what I'd build and what it would cost. No cost, no obligation.
